Experiment:
I used the JADUI PITARA for teaching “Rangometri.”
Rangometri is a medium of play that helps develop children’s basic numerical knowledge.
First, I narrated the story of Meena’s family and asked the children which vehicle Meena
would take to her grandmother’s house. The children provided various answers, such as
bus, car, motorcycle, and train.
I then told them that the train they would take is as long as the blackboard. I asked them
to estimate how many compartments the train would have. The children began guessing,
and then I had them place the compartments on the board. Later, I asked them about the
closest and farthest guesses. In this activity, I found that the children were participating
with great enthusiasm.
